America has been mislead

It is time I share with you...what I have learned after a week, that is very sad, and I know many won't comprehend. I love Mexican food. I get it everywhere I go at home. However....I grew up thinking it was Mexican food...when In reality we have been lied to. I do not know whether to blame the Mexican Americans who cook it, or the Americans who thought they were making Mexican food....because after being in Mexico...everything is different.

So here it what I grew up knowing as a taco. I love them, I crave them all the time, especially at what I grew up knowing authentic Mexican restaurants.

This ladies and gentlemen is known to us a taquito but here in Mexico...this my friends is a Taco. And if you ask for carne...(steak) it is white... I have never seen white steak before...but here in Mexico...carne is white. This is what I grew up knowing as a chulupa. A thick fried tortilla...and the rest reminds me of a juicy taco...so good..but very bready. My I told my host mom ( Me Gusta Chulupas) I like Chulupas....then to my surprise....

Go figure these are chulupas...they are very small and you roll them up....again lied to my whole life.
So the quisidillas are about the same other then the cheese...doesnt melt...and is kinda crumbly...

The below is the type of cheese they use. Also you can't seem to get plain water anywhere..it is either kiwi, pinapple, lemon, watermelon, guava, mango or orange water. So you ask for plain water and you get one of the above...so just thought you should all be aware of the misleading that has occured in the American Life I had. I still love mexican food, my tummy is just trying to figure out if it appreciates the new form of authentic food I now eat. haha Also I have yet seen anywhere that sells burritos... i love burritos..you can find hot dogs more then you can find burritos....odd odd

taco wagons are usually more authentic than any restaurant you go to, but i think mexican food varies according to what part of mexico you are in also.
